When he was a toddler, my wife taught my son a song that they sang together at crosswalks: “Red means stop, green means go, and yellow means pay attention.” The greatest risk to a young pedestrian is during the transition when vehicles stop for a red lightand start for a green light. Similarly, the greatest risk to a design occurs when “we fail to pay attention” while developing a design.
