Nominations for the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) 2025 Responsible Care Awards are open from March 2 to May 2, 2026.
CIAC invites members and partners to recognize the companies and individuals making a meaningful difference in Canada’s chemistry and plastics sector. Launched in 2022, the Responsible Care Awards recognize companies that exemplify leadership and outstanding performance in implementing Responsible Care over the past year.
Awards are given across several categories:
- Stewardship Award: For contributions in product stewardship, value chain stewardship, and/or research and development.
- Accountability Award: For contributions in community engagement and/or equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Company of the Year: For organizations that have exemplified each code, as well as the codes as a whole.
- The Jean Bélanger Award: To honour individuals who reflect Responsible Care in all aspects of their life.
- The Women in Chemistry Award: To recognize women who are seen as leaders in the field of chemistry.
- The Excellence in Partnership Award: To honour implementation partners who has provided significant value to Responsible Care.
Plastics Awards:
- OCS Company of the Year: In recognition of exemplary dedication, unwavering commitment, and outstanding leadership in the pursuit of a sustainable and environmentally responsible industry. This accolade is a testament to the exceptional efforts and achievements of a member who has gone above and beyond in embracing our shared vision of a world with zero pellet, flake, and powder loss.
- Plastics Contributor of the Year: In recognition of significant contributions, demonstrated exemplary leadership, and a profound impact in the field of plastics. This award aims to celebrate professionals who have shown exceptional dedication, innovation, and commitment to the advancement of the plastics industry.
