Chemistry Industry Association of Canada announces newest Responsible Care Award winners

The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) announced the winners of the 2023 Responsible Care Awards at the annual CIAC board of directors meeting on October 22.

In 2024, CIAC launched two new Responsible Care awards, including Operation Clean Sweep Company (OCS) of the Year, and Plastics Contributor of the Year, to recognize significant contributions, exemplary leadership, and a profound impact in the field of plastics.

“We are so proud of our outstanding awards winners this year. They have all shown formidable effort and leadership in implementing Responsible Care over the past year,” said CIAC President and CEO Bob Masterson. “I also want to thank all our nominees. It was a very difficult decision this year, as we had many companies and individuals who performed outstanding work in the different award categories. Congratulations to you all.”

The 2023 award recipients are:

  • Operations Award: CCC Sulphur Products
  • Stewardship Award: Inter Pipeline
  • Accountability Award: ERCO Worldwide
  • OCS Company of the Year: Dow Canada
  • Company of the Year Award: Dow Canada
  • Jean Bélanger Award: James Brown (Dow Canada)
  • Women in Chemistry Award: Dr. Ronda Gras (Dow Canada)
  • Excellence in Partnership Award: Inter Pipeline
  • Excellence in Partnership Award: GATX Corporation
  • Plastics Contributor of the Year: Dow Canada
  • President’s Award: Tyler Yates (GATX Corporation)
  • President’s Award: Dwight Este (LANXESS Canada)
